XML G2S, Game to System standard, protocol has been created by GSA, Gaming Standards Association, with a view to a standardisation policy, extended to all regulated gambling sectors, whose data would be channelled towards central accounting management structures; but it is supposed to be exploited also under a gambling addiction prevention perspective, as it enables a direct conversation with gamblers, through the gambling machines themselves.
G2S protocol allows the reception of detailed real-time information about VLT gaming and, at the same time, permits to send messages to the machines, and, hence, to the gamblers. This methodology can be easily extended to internet gaming, through the analysis of deposit account history.
